Leaking Roof Causes Mold Growth in Garage Ceiling

After heavy storms, an area homeowner noticed mold growing on their garage ceiling. While checking the attic for additional mold, the homeowner also broke a hole in the drywall. After calling us at SERVPRO of Southeast Milwaukee County, we were able to remove the drywall, disinfect the surrounding area with anti-microbial spray, and replace the drywall in no time. 

Although this was a quick fix for our production team, it is important to remember to call us immediately after finding out that damages have occurred. The quicker we can be on the scene to mitigate, the easier and less costly the damages will be to restore. It is also important to note that mold grows within 24 to 48 hours of water damage when conditions are not treated properly.
